The overview of CONDOM

A condom is a device commonly used during sexual intercourse to reduce the probability of pregnancy and spreading sexually transmitted diseases like HIV.

Most condoms are made of a type of rubber called “latex”. Latex condom are mostly effective condoms at presenting STD’s. Recent condom made of polyurethane(a type of plastic) have become available.

Condom are usually used for collection of semen used in infertility treatment. It can be used by both men and women but are of different types and the ways are also different. For male it is put on an erect penis and physically block ejaculated  semen from entering the body of a sexual partner while for female it is put in the vagina so that it closed the end of the tube cover of cervix and the other end slightly cover the labia(lips on the outside of the vagina). The condom blocks the sperm from entering the womb. Female condoms provide some protection against sexually transmitted diseases but the male condom provide the best protection.

Condom use at every act on intercourse – women  whose partner use male condom  experience a 2 % per-year pregnancy rate with perfect use and 15% per-year pregnancy rate with typical use. Condom has mostly been used for at least 400 years.  Latex condom provide protection from sexually transmitted diseases by preventing the infected area from coming in contact with the partner. Polyurethane condom provide some protection although not much as latex. Natural or lambskin condoms don’t protect against STDs because they have larger holes or “pores” that allow the small particle that can cause some STDs to pass through.
